The Journey began in July of 2005

On July 20, 2005 a representative of Children of the World came to visit me at my parents home to discuss adoption with us. I had been thinking about it for years and felt I was ready take the leap of faith. Little did I know, that 1 year later my daughter Isabell An (An means Peace in Chinese) would be born.

She was born July 16, 2006 in the city of Zhangiagang City, Jiangsu Province China. Her Chinese name given to her by her caretakers is Zhang Jin Lan after the city she was born in. Currently she lives in the Zhangiagang City Children's Welfare Institute. She was born with CL/CP and on April 20th in China her lip was repaired. Upon coming home, I will be working with a team of physicians to repair her palette.

This past week the preparation of her bed room has been started. Of course, I am going with pink, as I am sure at some point in her life she will not let me indulge in my love of the color. My friend Steven is helping to make the room absolutely beautiful. Once it is done I will post pictures.

Mom will be going to China with me and I am so glad she will be there. Once we get over there we will be posting as much as possible to share our Journey to Isabell An with you all.

Isabell's Family:
Mom, Martha with her cousin's Lily and
John Francis, Aunt Kate, and Uncle Blaise

The Grandparents:
Her cousins: Cameron, Brett
and Luke Gallahue (Blaise's kids)
