Please Post Your Thoughts and Wishes for Isabell

Dear Family and Friends:

If you feel you would like to share your thoughts or wishes with Isabell, please feel free to post in the "comments" section below.

I am printing these out and keeping them in her baby book so she will know how much she was thought of and loved, even before she came home.

Many thanks!

International Adoption Clinic

Well, a big thanks to my Mom and Dad for going to Birmingham on Saturday to attend UAB's International Adoption Clinic with me. Headed by Dr. Chambers and other specialist who all have adopted internationally, we spent the day learning about how they can help Isabell as she begins her journey and adjustment to coming home. This will also be the group that performs her surgeries to repair her CL/CP.

On the way home I was also lucky enough to be able to stop in Montgomery and have dinner with Susan and Nick Moss. You may remember that their son Sam is the child listed just below Isabell in her finding ad. They are both in the same orphanage. We are hoping and praying we will be traveling together to get our children. The Moss' just received on Saturday their "Letter of Seeking Confirmation from Adopter". This is a very important letter that they sign accepting Sam and from there they now wait to get their "Travel Authorization". I have the privilege of delivering the letter they signed back to the agency. I have a good feeling mine is coming soon!!!!

Also, I took some time to take a few more pictures some of the lovely items that I have bought and have been given to Isabell thus far. I wanted to share with you all as I prepare for her arrival. Enjoy!

P.S. You will notice a very cute Asian "Cabbage Patch" doll in the crib. Susan surprised me with this when we met and I must say Isabell will love it when she comes home. Thank you Susan and Nick!

The Timeline to Isabell An

My journey began in July of 2005 in my parents living room 2 months before Katrina struck. Julie, who had adopted 2 Asian daughters came over to discuss the process with me. From that meeting the following has happened thus far:

  • 8/7/06 - DTC (Dossier to China) (There's a lot to do.)
  • 9/8/06 - Log In Date (LID)
  • 10/25/06 - Dossier in Translation
  • 5/11/07 - First time I saw her little face and wonderful eyes. I became a Mom this day!
  • 5/13/07 - Mother's Day - I turned in my Letter of Intent for Zhang Jin Lan. I also received my first Mother's Day rose.
  • 8/25/07 - Finding Ad arrives with Isabell's first picture and details of where she was found.
  • Now we wait for the LOA - Letter of Acceptance.
  • 9/25 - LOA arrives!!!!
