One year ago yesterday Isabell An Gallahue was placed in my arms for the first time in China. She was quite and still. She was 16 months old and did not walk or talk. Her face was as sweet as I imagined and those eyes were just as full and bright with life as I thought they were in the pictures I had gotten six months previously.
What a difference a year makes! She is talking, can count to 5, recognizes colors, letters and numbers. She know some sign language, goes to day care and charms everyone with her fun and loving personality. What I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving is this precious person that the good Lord has brought into my life. Thank you to my family and friends for all the love and support you have given over the past year! We are thankful for you, Love Martha and Isabell

The Owl and the Pussy Cat
Isabell loves a good book and I could not have timed this more perfect. In the background you will hear the poem of the Owl and the Pussy Cat. She will often sit in her room and surround herself with books looking at the pictures and even now say what some of the pictures are in the book. Her vocabulary is growing daily. Mommy needs to watch what she says so little ears do not repeat.

Happy Halloween!
Grandpa and I made our first Jack-o-lantern together! I learned about eyes, nose and mouth. Also, I did not like putting my hand in the pumpkin as it was mushy.
